My project will look at the state of the public library in relation to the proliferation of open access digital libraries over the Internet. I will examine how traditional libraries have served the population in the past; ways that these libraries have responded to the growth of the Internet in the past 15 years; and how libraries will serve the public when the majority of the world’s libraries will become freely available online.
